Ashley Graham Embraces Her ‘New Mom Bod’ In Swimsuits For All Campaign

Just six months after giving birth to her first child, Ashley Graham is flaunting her post-baby body in a new Swimsuits for All campaign. The supermodel and swimsuit designer posed for a series of photos shot by her husband, Justin Ervin, and decided to leave them completely unretouched—stomach stretch marks and all.

“Some things I love: a cute bathing suit and a backyard shoot with the family!” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself sporting a tropical print bikini. “We’ve had such great time making the most of this summer in Nebraska and these suits have me feeling great for my first summer as a mommy!”

The campaign showcases new suits from her size-inclusive swimwear line in collaboration with Swimsuits For All, which includes on-trend styles in sizes sizes 4-24. “The thing about working with Swimsuits For All is that I've always been able to design swimsuits that I want to wear and swimsuits that I'm really comfortable in,” Graham said in an interview with People.

The new mom went on to explain why she didn’t Photoshop the images, which highlight the stretch marks on Graham’s tummy and the dimples on her thighs. “There’s always a question of what do you want us to retouch, and what do you want us to take out? And I said, ‘Nothing,’ except from a clamp holding up the DIY backdrop,” she said. “I want everybody to know genuinely…I want people to see who I am because everybody has a story.

Graham continued: “A lot of women I speak to have image issues, body issues around confidence. I want them to understand that we all have things that society has told us to cover up and why do we need to do that? So here I am with mine out and about and proud.”

Of course, this isn’t the first campaign in which Graham has chosen to keep it real. She has always been a champion of body positivity, calling for more size acceptance and less retouching in the fashion industry. And she has never been ashamed to flaunt her curves, even throughout her pregnancy. “Now with a new postpartum body, I thought that things were going to feel different, and that they were going to look different, and they do, but it's a new found joy in that,” she said.

Graham and Ervin welcomed their son, Isaac, on January 18, 2020. “I've got more weight on me. I've got stretch marks, and in the beginning I really had to have a lot of conversations with myself and tell myself, 'Okay, new body, new mindset,’” she admitted of her postpartum body. “But after this photo shoot, I felt so empowered because I was like, 'Yes. I look good. I feel good. This is my new mom bod'.”
