Claudia Schiffer is a world-famous supermodel, but don’t worry, she’s more like us when it comes to exercise than originally thought. Well, in some ways at least.
Motivation can be really hard when it comes to exercise and staying active, and some types of exercises are an immediate no-go.
However, Claudia Schiffer has found a way around her motivation block and keeps herself healthy and moving.
“Hates the Gym”
In a past interview with Vogue, Schiffer’s trainer, David Higgins, shared that “she absolutely hates” the gym.
He talked about some of the routines they do together, including alternative exercises like “really high-intensity Pilates.”
She balances the alternative exercises with a simple workout. It helps her push through the minutes, especially when she has to get on a workout machine.
Talking in another interview with Net-A-Porter about her morning routine, Schiffer shared that her secret is “going on the treadmill while watching Gilmore Girls.”
Finally, a celebrity that matches our fitness regimen to a tee!
Staying Active
Walking on the treadmill and doing Pilates isn’t the only thing keeping Claudia Schiffer active. Her other suggestions to keep your body moving are organizing social plans that revolve around activity.
“I’ve started working out with my girlfriends, doing everything from cardio to yoga or tennis. Every day, we do something new, which makes it fun,” she stated in an interview.
Another thing she enjoys is long walks “in the countryside with my dogs.”
A perfect way to get fresh air and spend time with your four-legged friends.
Helping Body and Mind
Exercise isn’t just beneficial to the body; it helps the mind, too. In a 2024 interview with Wardrobe Icons, Schiffer talked about the impact of working out on her mind.
“Some days are quite stressful because there’s a lot going on and not everything always goes to plan,” she shared. “Working out relieves my stress, so I try to work out every day.”
Claudia Schiffer’s Routine
Schiffer expanded on her interviews with Net-A-Porter and Wardrobe Icons about her morning and daily routine that keeps her in top shape.
She starts her day with “a cup of decaf coffee with home-made almond milk and dates.” During the day, she prioritizes meals that are “non-processed, natural and organic” and drinks “lots of water.”
However, her diet is not the end-all, be-all.
She added, “I’ll make exceptions if it’s a special occasion and I’m going to a restaurant or having weekend brunch with friends.”
The Importance of Moving
Moving your body regularly is super important for both your physical and mental health.
Some benefits to staying active include reduced risks of chronic diseases, enhanced brain function, improved mood, and better sleep. Even little stretches of activity, such as walking or gardening, can help boost energy and reduce stress.
The main point is to find a way to stay moving that interests you, so it doesn’t feel like such a hassle to get moving every day.
