Jennifer Lawrence is getting ready for a new role: motherhood. According to new reports, the Oscar-winning actress is expecting her first child with husband Cooke Maroney.
According to People, Lawrence’s rep Liz Mahoney confirmed the pregnancy, after speculation started spreading on Twitter late Wednesday evening.
Mahoney added that no other details will be provided at this time, which makes sense given the couple choose to keep their personal lives out of the public eye.
However, Lawrence has made it clear in the past that she has been looking forward to becoming a mom. “I imagine I’ll have children, and then my whole life will just seem complete,” the actress told Glamour.
Lawrence and Mahoney, an art gallery director, tied the knot in October 2019, after dating for a little over a year. The pair were first linked in June 2018 and confirmed their engagement the following February.
When asked why she wanted to marry Mahoney on the Naked With Catt Sadler podcast, Lawrence responded, “He’s the greatest person I’ve ever met, so I feel very honored to become a Maroney.”
“I just met Cooke, and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever,” she told Sadler. “Fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet, you’re like: You can’t leave.”
And now with a baby on the way, they seem happier than ever. Congratulations to the couple on their growing family!
