Joy Behar is loving her body. The television personality shared that she lost 25 pounds, with the secret behind her weight loss being a little help from GLP-1 medication.

She discussed her weight loss alongside co-hosts on the February 18th episode of The View.

“We All Did It”

The topic was brought up during The View, as many celebrities and public figures are turning to Ozempic and Mounjaro to lose weight. The injectable medications were used to treat adults with type 2 diabetes, but have since grown into a Hollywood trend for their weight-loss benefits.

“I lost 25 [pounds],” Joy Behar shared, one of several cohosts to try out the method. “We all did it!”

Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, “I did it because I was almost 300 pounds. And I’m looking good now!”

Guest cohost Savannah Chrisley, who is filling in for Alyssa Farah Griffin, added, “I lost 40 pounds.”

Chrisley also addressed the stigma around taking GLP-1s, saying, “People are made to feel so much shame around doing [it] and it isn’t. People do it for health-related reasons. I personally did it because I was prediabetic.”

While she didn’t share it during the February 18th episode of The View, Sunny Hostin has previously shared she’s used Mounjaro to lose weight after gaining 40 pounds during COVID.

Kelly Clarkson’s Journey

Goldberg and Behar are known to support those who decide to take GLP-1s, including in March 2024 when they defended Kelly Clarkson after she shared her journey with weight loss medication.

Goldberg said in her defense: “They kick her behind when she’s bigger, they kick her behind when she’s lost the weight and now they’re kicking her behind because she said it out loud.”

Joy Behar added her support and understanding, saying, “I’ve been on diets up and down, up and down. You lose it, then you gain it back. Nobody wants to be fat except a sumo wrestler. It’s uncomfortable, your clothes don’t fit, everybody wants to lose weight.”

Clarkson used the medication to help her body “break down the sugar” and help improve her bloodwork. At first, she was hesitant to use a prescription due to her thyroid problems, but finally agreed to try medication.

Along with the prescription, Clarkson added exercise and proper nutrition to shed the pounds and get her feeling better.

When talking about her diet, Clarkson said it was “a healthy mix,” adding, “And 90 percent of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!”

Clarkson was able to find a healthier tomorrow with the medication, alongside women from The View.

Don’t Judge Others

While discussing their weight loss and weight gain, and how medication helped them find their ideal bodies, Goldberg added another piece of advice during the March 2024 episode. We shouldn’t be judging others.

She said, “My weight has come and gone and up and down, but it’s never been an issue for me because I don’t listen to what people say about me so it has never been a problem. But I think it’s very hard for people to just know what a normal weight would be. Everyone has something to say but no one said, ‘How you doing?’ Because it involves so many other things.”

Hostin added, “I don’t think the personal health choices you make for yourself should be subject to discussion.”
