Megan Thee Stallion Hospitalized

One of Stallion’s spokespeople provided a statement to Page Six.

“During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”

On Wednesday morning, the official website for the Broadway production confirmed Stallion would not be performing in the matinee or evening performances.

Her rep confirmed the news to THR and provided an update on Stallion. She had been discharged after being treated for “extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels.”

They added, “Megan is incredibly grateful for the prayers and well-wishes from her supporters and is looking forward to resuming her role as Zidler on Moulin Rouge on Thursday.”

Viewer’s Responses

A couple of posts on social media focused on Stallion’s well-being.

Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, wrote on X, “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital.”

Breakfast Club host Loren Lorosa also posted on social media, as she was in attendance during the show. She tweeted, “Came to see Meg The stallion on broadway and that was short lived. The few opening scenes I saw her in she was great on stage! I was excited BUT… They just stopped ‘moulin rouge’ mid show apologized to the audience and said ..’stay inside and seated’ I asked security if we’re safe .. they told us ‘for now, we’ll update you if anything changes.'”

Lorosa then posted that Stallion was replaced “by a black male actor.” She added, “We are safe … show is continuing on without Megan thee stallion.”

Megan Speaking Out

Megan Thee Stallion also spoke out about her brief hospital stay on Instagram.

She wrote, “Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t.”

She added that she needs “one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been,” before coming back on Thursday’s show “stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve.”

She finished her statement with, “Thank you for always riding with me and loving me through everything.”

Her Broadway Role

Megan Thee Stallion plays Zidler in the Broadway show and will do so for a limited eight-week period.

She is the first female-identifying performer to play Zidler on the show, who was played in the past by Boy George, Wayne Brady, Tituss Burgess, and Bob the Drag Queen. Stallion will appear in the show until May 17th, and sings some of her famous songs at the end of the show.

When the announcement about her role came out, Stallion said it was an “absolute honor.”

“I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation, and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me,” she shared.
