Oh baby! Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra welcomed their first child, a daughter, via surrogate on Saturday, January 15.
The new parents took to social media to share the happy news. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” they wrote on both of their personal Instagram accounts.
“We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family,” the post concluded. “Thank you so much.” No other details on the birth of their daughter are known at this time.
The couple, who recently celebrated their third wedding anniversary, tied the knot in November 2018 after just months of dating and being engaged. And they have always expressed that they were looking forward to expanding their family. In fact, while they were still dating Chopra told People, “We definitely want kids, and when the time is right, it will happen.”
And perhaps there may have been a recent hint we all missed. During November’s Jonas Brothers Netflix comedy special, Jonas Brothers Family Roast, Chopra made a cryptic joke. “We’re the only couple who doesn’t have kids. Which is why I’m excited to make this announcement. Nick and I are expecting….” she said, pausing to gauge the audience’s reaction. “To have fun tonight and sleep in tomorrow!”
Chopra later commented on how his face froze as she was telling the joke, and now we know why.! Congratulations to the happy couple.
