If there’s one haircut celebrities seem to be rushing to get before the season ends, it’s the bob. If Kourtney Kardashian’s big chop wasn’t enough to convince you that the short style is summer’s hottest hair trend, then maybe Chrissy Teigen’s latest transformation will. On Monday, the star debuted a soft bob on social media.

“You were very confused to learn my bob a few weeks ago wasn’t real, so here, for you!” she wrote on Instagram, referencing a wig she wore on August 20. “Oh it feels so good to finally commit!” The post features two videos, the first is of Teigen showing off her new haircut in a bathroom mirror while wearing a chic blazer.

The second video shows the process of Teigen’s hair being razor cut against a comb, proving that this time is the real deal. Celebrity hairstylist and Ouidad ambassador Irinel de León, who is tagged in the post, is responsible for the transformation. She reshared the post in her own Instagram Story, writing “for real for real this time.”

Teigen’s freshly-shorn strands fall around the middle of her neck and are styled with a deep side part and slight wave. The blunt line around the bottom combined with the skillful layering and shaping throughout make for a cut that’s airy and voluminous, right in line with what we’ve seen become one of the biggest trends of the season.

Teigen, who had been sporting a shoulder-length lob, joins a recent trend of celebs deciding to shed some inches this summer. Billie Eilish just revealed a new shaggy bob on Instagram, while Camila Cabello went for a sleek, blunt bob cut. All this to say that if you’re considering the cut yourself, there are plenty of ways to wear it and it’s fully customizable.

And while Teigen is no stranger to switching things up when it comes to her hair — remember the “midlife crisis” gray wig? — we hope she is truly committed to this look, because it’s super-chic and feels refreshing as we head into fall. As one follower wrote, “<bob flip>”.
