Can Everyone Please Stop Body Shaming Chrissy Teigen Already?

Has the Internet not learned its lesson? Chrissy Teigen doesn't stand for body shaming, and she definitely doesn't stay silent when confronted with it on social media. So when trolls criticized the star's latest swimsuit look, she shut them down like the pro she is.

Over the weekend, Teigen shared a video of herself wearing a sexy one-piece swimsuit. “I never post thirst traps, so here I am trapping you in thirst,” she joked while dancing in front of a mirror. The model and mom of two obviously looks amazing, but that didn't stop the mean comments from rolling in.

While some people targeted Teigen's “square” figure, others thought it an opportune time to tell her to cover up. “Yuck. Is this how you want to be seen? I bet hubby loves it but please leave it for him only,” one person wrote.

Of course, this is nothing she hasn't heard before. So, in true Teigen style, she responded with a nod to her successful modeling career: “Everyone used to….surgically enhanced curves. I’ve been a square my whole life and let me tell you, it’s paid off nicely in many ways!”

It sure did.

Teigen followed up with another Tweet, adding: “Imagine if one day I showed up with hips and an ass. Ooooo you guys would be pissed then too! I’m happy, John’s happy, we all happy and doing a-okay!”

Many of Teigen's fans came to her defense, too. “Why is it when a woman is confident in her body, y'all find the need to drag her down?” Another added: “This is so disturbing that human beings are starting to think all women have the same shape. Some are more square, some are pear, others are apple, some are hourglass. It’s a shame people don’t know that anymore due to social media, editing, and surgery.”

These are all great points. It's 2020. Can everyone please stop body shaming Chrissy Teigen — and all women — already?
