Drew Barrymore Shares Her Fave Drugstore Product For Covering Dark Circles

Ugh, dark circles. Caused by a variety of reasons, from lack of sleep and dehydration to genetics, almost everyone is bothered by shadows under their eyes — even celebrities. However, not everyone has access to a fancy facialist or plastic surgeon who can make them disappear overnight. Happily, Drew Barrymore, the queen of no B.S. beauty, has shared her affordable trick to make dark circles appear a lot less prominent.

As part of #BeautyJunkieWeek, an occasion Barrymore created to share some of her beauty secrets, she recently took to IGTV to introduce her favorite product for treating dark circles: Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream. The multitasking formula instantly diminishes the look of dark circles by “at least 60 to 70 percent,” she claims as she applies it under her eyes.

But this eye cream doesn't just cover your dark circles, it treats them, too. “This on its own not only acts as a concealer, brightening and lightening the effect and look of a dark circle, but its also taming the dark circle while you're wearing it,” she says. “It's sort of a perfect alchemy of skincare as makeup.”

Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream is formulated with hydrating glycerin, brightening niacinamide, and smoothing, de-puffing peptides. Its' peachy-pink tint cancels out and conceals darkness, Barrymore notes, also pointing out the product's “slight iridescence,” which gives the under eyes a brighter appearance.

In fact, Barrymore says it works so well that she often wears it instead of concealer. “I'm really, really obsessed with how you can go out in your day with a lot more confidence and a better look overall while actually doing a skin treatment.” But it's also great “even if you're just walking around the house or doing work from home,” she adds.

Talk about a timely tip! No one wants to apply makeup for a Zoom meeting, but a skincare product that makes you look a little more put-together? Sold. What's more, you can pick one up next time you're out shopping for toilet paper. Or, you can order it online for $30.

This isn't the only product Barrymore is raving about either. Head over to her Instagram to see more from her #BeautyJunkieWeek series.
