Dua Lipa is a star-studded singer who goes on tour a lot. To keep her body in top shape to dance and sing in high heels for hours on end, she’s built a workout routine that’s versatile and can be brought wherever she goes.

While her life may be lived like a vacation, Dua Lipa definitely doesn’t stray from her prized workout routines, whether she’s at home or on the go.

Training Everywhere

Dua Lipa constantly posts photos on social media about her fitness exploits while traveling or touring. One of her most recent stunts is doing a headstand on a surfboard, a trick she showed off during her holiday in the Balearic Islands.

In an interview with Vogue, she commented, “I always make time to get a good workout in whenever and wherever I’m in the world. This includes reformer pilates, yoga, boxing, HIIT, and more. While she may be on holiday a lot, Dua Lipa uses that mentality for her workouts, too.

“Don’t overthink it. You get a really good playlist. You throw on a really cute Pilates look, something that makes you feel really good. It clears your mind.”

Lipa listens to a blend of high-intensity music and calming music, depending on what workout she’s doing.

Reformer Pilates Sessions

Reformer pilates is a huge trend amongst many prominent celebrities, including Hailey Bieber, Meghan Markle, and Dua Lipa.

Lipa loves pilates so much that she’s joining forces with Frame as cofounder and chief creative officer. Frame is basically an at-home version of the reformer machine, equipped with a screen so you can stream a class whenever you have time. Lipa is super excited about the product.

“I love that I can wake up, roll out of bed, and get right to it on the reformer. I love that I see such instant results. It’s like some of the best forms of strength training for me.”

While it may be hard to imagine Dua Lipa needing strength training, her touring bouts require a lot of strength and stamina.

“I’m in heels all the time, so my core is incredibly important. You’ve got to have a really strong core because if you have a strong core, then you’ve got a strong lower back, and so therefore that really helps when you’re dancing and you’re up on your feet for a very long time.”

Dua Lipa’s Workout Choices

Dua Lipa has a range of workouts she chooses to keep her body toned and ready for performances.

She told Viva, “I think different variations of crunches like bicycle crunches are good. Leg raises are also great unless my back hurts. Planks are good, although almost certainly my least favorite!”

While Lipa does some of her workouts at home or on the go, she also has a personal trainer, Sora Connor.

When talking about Lipa’s workouts, Connor said, “We always work the entire body. Sometimes it’s more core-focused, other times it’s glutes. The main objective is to work the muscles so that they become strong and toned but the focus is on creating a long, lean line.”

Lipa also leans on her friends for fitness motivation, whether it’s going to a class together, training at her home, or even hopping on Zoom for a bit of face-to-screen contact.

The singer also prizes a blend of quick workouts, like a 15-minute HIIT session to get her body in shape during busy schedules, or going for a boxing class to get a full body workout that also acts as a “great stress reliever.”
