Gigi Hadid has given birth! The supermodel welcomed her first child, a daughter, with boyfriend Zayn Malik.
Malik first announced the happy news on Wednesday via Twitter, sharing a black-and-white photo of himself holding his newborn’s hand. “Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful,” the singer wrote. “(T)o try to put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task.”
“The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding,” he continued. “Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x.”
Hadid later shared the news of their daughter’s arrival on her own social media accounts. “Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she's already changed our world,” she wrote on Instagram alongside another photo of Malik holding hands with their newborn. “So in love.”
No further details on their daughter or Hadid’s birthing process have been revealed at this time.
Since posting the birth announcement, the proud new parents have been flooded with support from fans and fellow stars. “Welcome babygirl! So happy for you guys,” wrote model Hailey Beiber. Singer Dua Lipa, who is dating Hadid’s brother Anwar Hadid, shared her excitement with a string of emojis.
The model’s father Mohammed Hadid chimed in, too, commenting, “Congrats .. Jido’s heart belongs to you.. baby girl.” Earlier in the day, he left fans speculating that his daughter had given birth after posting a handwritten poem to his granddaughter on Instagram.
“Hello little grandchild, it is me, my heart as happy as can be. I wish for you the sun & moon, I wish for you a happy time,” the poem read. “Know that Grandpa's always near, I'll do anything, anything for you my dear.”
Hadid and Malik have been in an on-again, off-again relationship since 2015. News of Hadid’s pregnancy broke this spring, and the supermodel confirmed her pregnancy to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on April 30. This is their first child together.
