Finding delicious healthy sodas can feel like a challenge, especially when so many options are packed with sugar, artificial ingredients, or empty calories.
That’s why I’ve put together this list of the healthiest sodas you can enjoy guilt-free in 2025. Each soda here was selected based on its health benefits, like low sugar, natural ingredients, or bonuses like prebiotics and probiotics for gut health.
In cases where the health benefits are similar, I’ve ranked them based on personal taste. For example, while a sugar-free soda is a healthy choice, a drink that supports gut health with natural prebiotics or probiotics ranks higher for me, especially if the sugar it contains is from natural sources.
If you’re looking for sodas that taste great and fit into a healthier lifestyle, this list has you covered.
9. Zevia

Zevia is a soda with no calories, no sugar, and no carbs. It is sweetened with stevia, a natural plant-based sweetener that doesn’t raise blood sugar levels. Zevia comes in lots of flavors, like Cola, Cream Soda, and Black Cherry.
Each 12-ounce soda costs about $1.00 to $1.50. While it doesn’t have extra health benefits like prebiotics or probiotics (see much further into the list), it’s made with natural ingredients and has no artificial sweeteners. The fact it’s more affordable than others on this list, and still delivers a healthier soda alternatively, is why it ranks on this list.

8. Virgil’s Zero Sugar Sodas

Virgil’s Zero Sugar Sodas are made with natural sweeteners like stevia and erythritol, a low-calorie sugar alternative that tastes like sugar but doesn’t raise blood sugar levels.
Virgil’s sodas come in some great flavors, like Root Beer, Vanilla Cream, and Black Cherry. Black Cherry is my absolute favorite, and better yet, contains no sugar, no calories, and no carbs (it tastes much better than Zevia’s Black Cherry in my opinion, but you should make up your own mind).
Each 12-ounce soda costs around $1.50 to $2.50. Which is pretty average for healthier sodas (trying to be healthy does have a premium sadly). While Virgil’s is a healthier option, it doesn’t have added benefits like prebiotics or probiotics. This is why I’ve only ranked it at number 8, yet it’s a delicious and definite guilt-free soda.
7. Green Cola

Green Cola tastes like a classic cola but is made with natural ingredients. It is sweetened with stevia, a plant-based sweetener, and uses caffeine from green coffee beans. This soda has no sugar, no calories, and no artificial additives.
Green Cola was started in Greece in 2011 to give people a healthier cola option. A 12-ounce soda has 0 calories, 0 grams of sugar, and 0 carbs, making it great for anyone watching their sugar or calorie intake.
Each soda costs between $1.50 to $2.50 depending on where you’re shopping. For me, I’m counting the extra shot of caffeine from the green beans a positive, as it may give a little energy kick. Therefore, it ranks 7 on my list.
6. Reed’s Zero Sugar Ginger Beer

My wife loves ginger beer, and since my diabetes diagnosis, she always picks up Reed’s Zero Sugar Ginger Beer just in case I’m tempted while she’s drinking one. This drink tastes like classic ginger beer but is made with real ginger and has no sugar.
Reed’s is made with fresh ginger root, which is known to help reduce inflammation. It’s naturally sweetened with erythritol, stevia, and monk fruit, so it has zero calories and zero sugar. Each 12-ounce soda has 0 calories, 0 grams of sugar, and 12 grams of carbs (the reason I can only have a swig and not a whole bottle).
A can of Reed’s costs about $1.50 to $2.50. While it doesn’t have extra health benefits like prebiotics or probiotics, the fact that it uses real ginger root, which does have health benefits, puts it above the sugar-free options and caffeine-added options ranked above.
5. Live Soda

My daughter loves kombucha and loves the tangy kick Live Soda has. This drink combines the familiar taste of soda with the health benefits of raw, organic kombucha.
Live Soda is packed with billions of probiotics, which can help with digestion and support gut health. It comes in classic soda flavors like Root Beer, Cola, and Ginger, making it a fun and tasty alternative for kombucha fans.
A 12-ounce can of the Root Beer flavor has 35 calories, 8 grams of carbs, and 8 grams of sugar, much less sugar than most regular sodas. Each can cost around $2, which is affordable if not the cheapest option on this list.
Some flavors do contain added sugar, which makes it a little less healthy than other options. Because of this, Live Soda ranks at number 5 on my list, as it all depends on what you’re looking for when it comes to health (some experts say kombucha is healthy).

4. Culture Pop

Culture Pop is a fizzy drink that’s packing some serious healthy additions. For example, each 12-ounce soda contains billions of probiotics, which are good bacteria that help digestion. It’s made with real organic fruit juice and spices, giving Culture Pop a unique taste. Flavors include Strawberry & Rhubarb, Orange Mango & Lime, and Ginger Lemon & Turmeric.
Each can of soda includes 40 to 45 calories and 9 to 10 grams of sugar, depending on the flavor. All the sugar comes from real fruit juice, with no sugars or fake sweeteners added. A soda costs about $2.75 each, depending on where you shop (in packs of 12 only).
The fact Culture Pop gives you probiotics and only natural sugars makes it a perfect healthy soda. However, the unique taste isn’t one I enjoy and for that, it ranks number 4, rather than higher.
3. Humm Probiotic Soda

Humm Probiotic Soda is a fizzy drink that’s good for your gut. Each 12-ounce soda contains 2 billion probiotics. It also gives you 100% or more of your daily vitamins C, D, and B12. What makes it rank above Culture Pop is that I love the Berry Cream flavor (it does come in others, including Lemon Lime).
This soda has no sugar and no calories, making it a healthy choice. It is made with organic ingredients and sweetened with natural plant-based sweeteners only. So, if you want no sweeteners at all but still pack in the probiotics, Culture Pop might be a better option. Humm costs about $2.83 per soda (when you buy a 12-pack).
Since my daily routine now includes taking lots of medications, staying on top of gut health is important to me. Humm Probiotic Soda gives the benefits of probiotics without the sugar and calories found in other drinks (this is why it’s important to always read the labels). This is why Humm ranks at number 3 on my list.
2. Olipop

Olipop is a close second on this top 10 because it packs some interesting ingredients and tastes great. However, depending on what you’re looking for in terms of health, your top sodas may vary.
Each 12-ounce Olipop soda has 35 to 50 calories and 2 to 5 grams of sugar, depending on the flavor. That sounds a lot, and if you’re cutting sugar or calories, there are better options on this list.
However, it has 9 grams of plant-based fiber, which comes from natural plants like cassava root, chicory root, and Jerusalem artichoke. These ingredients work as prebiotics, and feed the good bacteria in your gut. This is why I consider it one of the healthiest sodas available.
Olipop comes in some household favorite flavors too, like Classic Root Beer, Vintage Cola, and Strawberry Vanilla. There’s nothing unique or interesting here, but in terms of healthy soda Olipop is a winner. The drink is made with natural ingredients and sweetened with stevia and a little fruit juice.
So, even the sugars it’s packing aren’t terrible. Each soda can cost around $ 2.50 depending on where you shop.

1. Poppi

Since cholesterol, diabetes, and gut health all resonate with me, I can’t help but rank Poppi as the number one option on my list of healthiest sodas.
Poppi is roughly the same price as most of the other sodas on this list, at roughly $2.50 each. Additionally, each 12-ounce soda has 25 calories and 5 grams of sugar. Which is likely too high for some (these sugars are from natural ingredients only).
However, what puts this soda top for me is that it contains apple cider vinegar, which some experts say is good in certain scenarios. For example, for people with cholesterol or trying to keep blood sugar steady.
Poppi comes in basic flavors like Classic Cola, Strawberry Lemon, and Orange. This is helpful when you’re looking to replace household flavors with something healthier (I just wish they had a Dr. Pepper-flavored option).
Additionally, like Olipop, each Poppi soda has 2 grams of fiber from inulin, a prebiotic made from agave. Inulin feeds the good bacteria in your gut, helping to keep it healthy. Another essential for me. Poppi is made with natural ingredients and sweetened with organic cane sugar and stevia.
