J.Lo’s Latest Bikini Pic Has Inspired A Body Positive Social Media Movement

When Jennifer Lopez posted a bikini photo on Instagram last month, she probably had no idea it would spark the latest body positive movement on social media. But that's exactly what happened, and thus, the #JLoChallenge was born.

The photo, which was posted on February 16 shortly after her incredible performance at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show, shows the 50-year-old star posing in front of a mirror wearing a teeny-tiny, white bikini. “Relaxed and recharged,” she captioned the post.

Of course, it's impossible not to notice J.Lo's super toned body, and her comment section is full of well-deserved compliments (those abs!) and fire emojis. But the social media movement that has since gone viral is about more than looks alone. The #JLoChallenge celebrates the strength of a woman's body at any size or age.

A few days later, Maria Kang, a fitness influencer and founder of No Excuses Mom, posted a similar photo with an important message to moms. “Thank you @jlo for inspiring this spontaneous pic in a white bikini this morning,” she captioned her post.

King continued: “Not a celebrity. Not getting millions to look great in a movie (hello, Hustlers! Or dating a hot athlete (although my hubby is kinda cute!) BUT, it doesn't matter…Own your story. Create your own accountability. Don't make excuses for your inaction. If she can do it, if I can do it, if thousands of working moms who come in all sizes, shapes and ages can do it – then YOU CAN DO IT!”

King finished by challenging her followers to post their own version of J.Lo's bikini selfie to the social media app and tag friends to do the same. Women of all ages and sizes from around the world were inspired to participate, sharing their stories of self-love and strength.

“I have 4 amazing kids, I am 48. I learned how to love myself and accept myself. I am not perfect, I embrace my imperfections, I am me. I decide to be happy no matter what: I am strong, I am enough, I am worth it, I am beautiful,” wrote one woman alongside her photo.

Many of the women also thanked Lopez for inspiring them to stay motivated and find strength in their bodies. Being the health champion that she is, Lopez eventually caught onto the challenge and applauded all the women who participated. “Keep growing, keep pushing,” she wrote in an Instagram Story.

J.Lo is no doubt an inspiration, and we love to see all the confidence she brought out in others. Check out more of the beautiful women who’ve shared their #JLoChallenge selfies below.
