Jennifer Lopez takes this fact in stride, as the 56-year-old singer and actress posted a viral photo of herself working out at the gym.
The photo has caused praise and backlash alike, but Lopez knows what she needs to do to keep her body and mind happy.

Jennifer Lopez donned a purple workout outfit from Kim Kardashian‘s NikeSKIMS collaboration.
The gear included purple leggings, a sports bra, and a matching long-sleeved shirt, which she pulled up to reveal a flat stomach and toned abs. Along with her workout gear, Lopez chose to wear her long brunette hair down with minimal makeup as she posed in the gym alongside several pieces of equipment.
The caption for the post? “Keep it simple.”
Lopez also added a picture of a highlighted quote to her post, which read: “The goal is simple. Better than yesterday. Every. Single. Day.”
Fans Reactions
Fans were quick to praise Jennifer Lopez’s outfit and figure.
One fan wrote, “Wooooowooooow,” while another added into the mix: “Okayyyyy mama.” Another focused on Lopez’s physique, stating, “Body goals.” A fourth commented, “Such an inspiration.”
The superstar has received countless other positive comments and Likes in her Instagram post.
Rising Above Backlash
However, not all the comments are supportive. Jennifer Lopez has received some backlash for her latest post, in a similar vein of backlash for past outfits she’s worn. Some critics believe her outfits are inappropriate for her age, and she should be showing less skin.
However, that’s not how this actress rolls.
During one of her tours, Lopez addressed the criticism, stating, “Thank God I’ve been doing this a long time. I can just ignore a lot of it. It really doesn’t mean [anything]. I tell my kids that all the time.”
She finished her statement with a funny anecdote.
“I do laugh at some of the things sometimes, because they do say funny things too. ‘Why she always dressed that way? Why don’t she dress her age? Why she always naked?’ And I said, ‘If you had this booty, you’d be naked too.'”
The Secret to Her Success
Working out is not the only thing Jennifer Lopez does to keep her body and mind healthy and happy. It’s a great balance of fitness, a good night’s sleep, and proper nutrition throughout the day.
When talking about her workouts, Lopez explained, “It’s no secret that fitness is a very important part of my life. … When you find a good balance through determination and focus, we’re naturally pushing to be the best version of ourselves.”
Lopez is very dedicated to her workout schedule, rarely skipping them and telling herself it’s for her body’s benefit to keep it moving.
Another way she keeps her body and mind in tip-top shape is through prioritizing sleep.
In an interview with Today, she said, “Get seven to nine hours of sleep, like carve it out. Now, the other hours of the day? I’m going full speed. I’m full speed on the rest. But when I lie down, I’m like, ‘Okay, I need my rest.’ And when I don’t get it, something’s gonna suffer. You know, it will, and I’ve learned that.”
As for her meals? She doesn’t use restrictive or complex diets, but rather eats what she wants in moderation.
Protein is a main food group for Lopez, telling Us Weekly, “It fills me up and keeps me full longer. It’s a great muscle fuel.”
She also likes to add lots of veggies to her meals, along with Puerto Rican food, which she grew up on.
As long as you’re keeping your body properly fueled and working out consistently, who knows? You can have a body like Jennifer Lopez, too.
