The Oscars were filled with stunning looks and stars.
Celebrities were in perfect form for the evening, including Kate Hudson as she showcased her gown, son, and abs on the red carpet.
Kate Hudson’s Look
Kate Hudson arrived at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars after-party in a stunning look. She wore a crystal-embellished Gucci gown complete with a plunging neckline and cutout above her stomach. Diamond jewelry from Garatti complemented the dress, but it was her abs that drew more attention.
Hudson shared this moment with her family by her side, with her oldest son, Ryder, accompanying her on the red carpet. Ryder’s outfit was much more subdued, with a black suit and silk tie.
While on the red carpet, Ryder shared his feelings with Entertainment Tonight about the event.
“I’ve never been more proud of my mother,” he said. “I have to say, I’ve seen my mom close up more than anybody…put in more work and more dedication and more time than I’ve ever seen in my life. And it’s just such a beautiful thing.”
Toned Abs Stole the Show
As mentioned above, Hudson’s abs stole the show, prompting everyone to wonder how she got so toned.
On March 17th, celebrity fitness trainer Megan Roup announced it was her ab routine that got Hudson so snatched for the event. During the video on Instagram, she shares each exercise and shows how it is done.
In the caption, she wrote, “A moment for the abs. The Abs circuit I did with Kate Hudson leading up to the Oscars.”
It’s one of Roup’s go-to deep-core circuits when she wants something that targets her whole core.
She added, “We kept the focus on control, form, and breath over speed. That’s where the real work happens.”
The Abs Circuit
These are the exercises Kate Hudson did before the event:
- Dumbbell pulse scissor (8 reps)
- Alternating toe taps (8 reps)
- Ball pass extension (8 reps)
- Cross-body knee pull (8 reps)
- Cross-body with slice (8 reps)
- Cross-body with ball roll (8 reps)
Tips for the Workout
Megan Roup added a few tips to her video about the circuit.
This included sets, which Roup shared, “Run through this circuit 2 to 3 times, moving slowly and staying connected to your deep core the entire time.”
Other tips included:
- Exhale on the effort
- Wrap your transverse abdominals core like a corset-knittingn centre and zipping up
- Move with control, not momentum
- “It’s not about doing more…it’s about doing it better.”
Kate Hudson’s ab circuit is a great add-on to your workout routine to get those muscles toned and picture-ready. While working out is a great step towards your goal, so is food.
