Kid Rock may be known for his friendship with President Donald Trump, but the singer is also getting the limelight for his lifestyle change to a better alternative.

From switching his food intake to adding physical fitness, Kid Rock is striving towards a healthier tomorrow, even though he still regularly drinks beer.

Kid Rock’s Health Overhaul

Kid Rock opened up about his healthy lifestyle on Joe Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” The singer revealed he had overhauled his diet, targeting high-protein foods, fruits, vegetables, plenty of water, electrolytes, and intermittent fasting.

Kid Rock also talked about his transformation on “This Past Weekend w/Theo Von,” addressing his age group as a whole, needing to prioritize their health.

“You know for people who like what I do are in and around my age especially like it’s f—— time everyone, it’s time to get our s— together, get healthy like, you know, you can’t just run around doing what I was doing for the last 20 years forever and not expect some major consequences.”

Kid Rock’s “hardcore health journey” has been a five-year process, switching his diet and lifestyle to a more sustainable one.

One photo he shared on Facebook highlights his trim physique and toned arms while swinging a golf club. In the caption, he wrote, “HARD WORK PAYS!!… and if you have been thinking about doing the same, NOW IS THE TIME!!”

Still Drinking Beer

However, there is one thing that Kid Rock still does that may not align completely with a healthy lifestyle. The singer is an avid beer drinker and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

During Rogan’s podcast, he said, “I like to drink my beer. I drink some beer. I enjoy that and I’m not f—— stopping.”

He added that he usually imbibes one night a week, often depending on his work schedule. But, even just one night a week of drinking alcohol can negatively impact the body, and even the health progress already made.

This includes impairing cognitive function, increased risk of cancer, heart and liver issues, and even weight gain.

During an appearance on CNN in March 2015, integrative medicine specialist Dr. Pamela M. Peeke addressed the impacts of binge drinking, something Kid Rock alluded to doing in his life.

Binge drinking can have a large impact on your health journey, even for those who live very active and healthy lifestyles.

She told CNN that, “Drinking presses ‘pause’ on your metabolism, shoves away the other calories, and says, ‘Break me down first!'”

Creating a habit of abstaining from alcohol for days and then binge drinking for a day or two is extremely negative to your health.

“That’s the worst thing you can possibly do for your weight,” she added. “It has a much bigger effect than one drink a day.”

Comparison to Buddy President Trump

Kid Rock and President Donald Trump first connected back in 2016, when Kid Rock shared his approval of the election.

“I’m digging Trump. My feeling: let the motherf—— business guy run it like a f—— business. And his campaign has been entertaining as s—,” he told Rolling Stone.

Quickly, the singer became part of Trump’s MAGA movement and even headlined the alternative Super Bowl halftime show this year, featuring multiple country artists.

But after their political affiliations, that’s where the comparisons end, especially when it comes to their diets. Trump’s diet often consists of bacon, eggs, meatloaf, and Diet Coke.

Though he does win out in one category against Kid Rock, which is alcohol consumption. The President completely abstains from alcohol, unlike his singer compatriot.

Finding a Healthier Balance

For Kid Rock to truly prize his health and make gains in his lifestyle, finding the right balance between alcohol and dieting is crucial.

Ideally, men should only consume around one to two drinks per day while on a diet. Plus, they should be low-calorie options like spirits with club soda or light beer.

Pairing these with a balanced diet can help reduce overdrinking and limit the negative effects alcohol has on the body.
