Lainey Wilson is a star-studded country singer known for her killer vocals. However, she’s recently been making headlines for her smaller physique, though she still has her signature curves.

After rumors started popping up about exactly how Wilson shed the weight, she was quick to jump on social media and set the record straight.

Weight Loss Rumors

Tabloids and other outlets speculated Wilson lost around 70 pounds, achieving her smaller figure with the help of weight loss gummies. However, neither of these is true.

She went on the Big D & Bubba radio show in 2023 to clear the air.

“Hell no!” she said to the rumors. “I have lost weight. I probably lost around 20 pounds.”

Lainey Wilson also posted a video on her Instagram in June 2023 to dispel any remaining questions about her weight loss.

“Alright y’all, by now I’m sure a lot of y’all have seen some ads about me losing weight, being hospitalized, and then I started taking some weight loss gummies and blah blah blah that saved my life. Well, surprise, it ain’t true,” she stated. “People will do whatever to make a dollar, even if it is lies. Cause ain’t nobody sent me any gummies.”

She followed it up with some advice to her fans. “PSA if y’all have seen these ads, they’re entirely fake. Don’t fall for them and help me out by reporting them when you see them 🤘🏻,” she wrote in the caption.

How Lainey Wilson Lost Weight

Wilson isn’t worried about the number on the scale, revealing that her busy lifestyle is behind her weight loss.

“If I have lost weight, it’s because I am working hard and playing hour-and-a-half shows and running around every night of my life,” she said. “And to be honest, me losing weight or gaining weight ain’t got anything to do with my music.”

She shared with Audacy in 2023 how her workouts fit into her performance schedule. “If I don’t actually get a workout in during the day I don’t feel bad because I know I’m gonna get one that night.”

Healthy Food Choices

Lainey Wilson shared diet changes and eating habits during a Delish interview. She added more fruits and veggies, while cutting out sugar, dairy, and processed foods.

As for her go-tos? Wilson enjoys scrambled eggs for breakfast, yogurts or salads for lunch, grilled chicken for dinner, and hummus and almonds for snacks.

She also tries to meal prep when touring.

“I will say I feel like I’m becoming a little bit more prepared than I used to be. I really do enjoy meal prepping and having things handy, because I feel like when you don’t have those things handy, that’s when you mess up, and that’s when you eat something that makes you feel bad.”

However, Wilson admits she’s not perfect, finding it hard to eat three meals a day while touring.

“It’s really hard to make sure that you’re disciplined enough to do that. I try my best that I possibly can.”

One other thing Lainey Wilson makes sure to add to her diet is a little bit of sweetness. She has a sweet tooth and often makes room for daily indulgences.

“Even if it’s just a little piece of candy, I’ve got to have my dark chocolate,” she said. “At some point in time, I will have a bit of chocolate every single day.”
