Alison Hammond is opening up about her weight loss journey and shutting down any rumors surrounding weight loss drugs.
The TV personality has lost 150 pounds over five years of hard work and dedication.
Still Overweight
Hammond had an interview with The Daily Telegraph published on Saturday, April 4th.
She addressed some of the speculation and possible concerns surrounding her weight loss, stating, “I’m still overweight!”
“It makes me laugh when I see comments like ‘Alison is so skinny now.’ I’m still overweight! I’m a size 20! I’m by far not at my ideal weight for my height.”
However, there is one thing Hammond has accomplished with her weight loss — lowering her risk of diabetes after a pre-diabetes diagnosis.
“But the main thing is my diabetes is now in the optimum range.”
She added, “I like being bigger than everyone! I don’t want to take up less space in the world. I want to fill that space.”
Addressing Ozempic Rumors
Along with sharing her weight loss, Alison Hammond addressed rumors about using Ozempic or another weight loss drug to aid in her shedding pounds. S
he told the outlet that she lost the weight naturally. Hammond, who weighed over 390 lbs. at her heaviest, used a team of three personal trainers and exercised multiple times a week to help lose the weight.
Go-to exercises for the personality include Pilates, boxing, circuit training, and strength training.
She also mentioned that she finds the idea of weight loss drugs “frightening,” based on others’ negative experiences.
Focusing on Herself
Hammond’s weight loss is all about her, and she doesn’t let opinions affect her transformation.
“Listen. People are going to assume anything,” she said. “They weren’t happy with me being big; they weren’t happy with me being small. I was one point away from being diabetic, and my mom was diabetic, so I’d seen what a struggle it was.”
She added, “I literally needed to be able to walk up the stairs.”
Along with focusing on her own goals, Hammond strays away from giving her opinion when it comes to others’ appearances.
When asked about the weight-loss trends in Hollywood, Hammond stated, “I just try not to comment on women’s bodies.”
She continued, “When my mom lost a lot of weight while she was really ill with cancer, people were like, ‘Ooh, you’re looking great! And I was like, ‘Shut up! She’s literally dying!’ That really upset me.”
Current Health Routine
Alison Hammond’s current training routine is a blend of boxing, weights, circuit training, and Reformer Pilates.
Hammond is especially partial to the Reformer, as it’s a low-impact form of exercise that has become a favorite amongst many celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, David Beckham, and Harry Styles. S
he talked to Closer magazine in February about the workout, sharing, “I’ve just started doing Reformer Pilates and, oh my God, it’s so good. You feel absolutely incredible after it. I really need a good stretch — I’m stiff as a board — so Reformer Pilates has. been brilliant for me.”
Hammond has shared several updates about her exercises on social media, including boxing and lifting weights.
