Before dropping her highly-anticipate next single, Lizzo has a message for her fans: If you love her, you have to love all of her. And she is baring it all to better make her point.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, the Grammy-winning artist shared a video of herself posing nude for a photo shoot, confidence radiating off of her like the light on her skin. “If you love me… you love all of me. You don’t get to pick and choose,” she captioned the post.

The video is set to a soundbite from her new track with lyrics that’s match her message. “If you love me, you love all of me / Or none of me at all,” Lizzo sings in the background.

Lizzo also used her post to encourage fans to practice the same level of self-love. She continued her caption, writing: “We should be unconditionally loving of one another, starting with being unconditionally loving to ourselves.”

“Take a moment today and think about the conditions we hold so tightly to that keep us from the freedom of true love. Do you really wanna be so tightly wound? Free yourself in love. You deserve it.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time Lizzo has used her music or social media presence to send a message about body image. “Famously, I use songs and music to express all of my feelings, especially my heartbreak or sadness or getting over something or empowering myself for the good days and the days I wish could be good days,” she recently told Billboard. “I see social media like I see my music, because it still is an avenue in which I’m connecting with my fans.”

Lizzo’s new single would mark her first song since the Cardi B-assisted “Rumors” back in August 2021. Following its release, she called out online bullies in an emotional Instagram Live: “It’s fatphobic, it’s racist, and it’s hurtful,” she said of the trolling she received in response to the song’s video.

She continued: “What I won’t accept is y’all doing this to Black women over and over and over again, especially us big Black girls.”

“When we don’t fit into the box that you want to put us in, you just unleash hatred onto us. It’s not cool. I’m doing this shit for the big Black women in the future who just want to live their lives without being scrutinized or put into boxes.”

By stripping down nude while teasing her next song, Lizzo seems to be getting ahead of any shaming that may follow, and her message is clear: You don’t get to love her music while simultaneously hating on her body.
