Gigi Hadid surprised fans when she announced she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik. But after confirming the news back in April, the supermodel decided to keep her pregnancy out of the public eye, sharing very little with fans since.
Now, as she approaches her due date, Hadid is sharing photos from a maternity shoot on social media—and she looks absolutely stunning. The black and white images show the mom-to-be modeling sheer, flowy fabrics that show off her baby bump. “Growin an angel,” she captioned one of the posts.
“Cherishing this time. Appreciate all the love & well wishes,” Hadid wrote alongside another photo that shows her holding her belly. “Will never forget creating these special images with my friends.”
The photos were taken on July 26, and Hadid later confirmed that she was 33 weeks pregnant when the photo shoot took place. This means the couple’s baby should be arriving very soon. Eek!
Sharing behind-the-scenes videos from the maternity shoot, Hadid also gave a little insight into the process, which she said was nothing like her pre-pregnancy modeling gigs. In response to one fan’s question on Twitter, she replied that it was “definitely more tiring than working normally.”
“Got through the second look and was like ‘guys I think I can only do two more,’” she admitted. But Hadid is a pro, and the photos prove it. Let’s also not forget that she was a few months pregnant while walking runways during Fashion Month in February.
During Instagram Live with V Magazine in July, Hadid opened up about her decision to keep the details of her pregnancy private. “I’m so grateful for the positive comments and the questions and want you to know that we’re all good and safe, and everything’s going great, and I love you guys. Obviously, I think a lot of people are confused why I’m not sharing more, but like, I’m pregnant through a pandemic,” she said.

Glowing, Hadid continued: “Obviously, my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world. That’s a reason that I felt that it’s not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends.” But like all proud parents-to-be, Hadid has been busy documenting everything, and she looks forward to sharing these special moments with fans when the time is right.
“I have been taking a lot of pictures of my bump and sending it to friends and family, and it’s been really cute and exciting…. I’m trying to document it well, because I’ve heard a lot of people say, ‘Make sure you don’t miss it,’” she said. “And I will be sharing stuff like that in the future. I just am not rushed to do it, and I feel like right now I just want to experience it…. I just don’t want to worry about waking up every day during my pregnancy and, like, worry about having to look cute or post something.”
After quarantining in Pennsylvania, Hadid and Malik are back in New York City, where they will live in her recently remodeled apartment while awaiting the birth of their baby. The countdown is on!
