Thanks to social media, we've seen just how far people will go to amuse themselves (and others) while socially distancing. From the #QuarantinePillowChallenge to the #SavageChallenge, a number of fun and creative crazes have hit the Internet in the last few weeks. The latest to catch our attention: the “Tiny Face Makeup Challenge.”
The challenge reportedly started on Tiktok, but it really began to take off on social media after makeup artist and comedian Jaime French shared her take via Instagram. However, French gives credit where credit is due, noting in her caption that the tiny face makeup technique first made rounds on social media back in 2014.
Now, with people wearing masks and scarves amid the coronavirus pandemic, covering the lower half of their faces, the idea is to draw a smaller nose on your actual nose and a mouth around your nostrils to create the illusion of a tiny face. Some people add faux freckles and beards for even more detail, and others are using fake nose rings to look like lip rings.
The result is hilarious, and once you see it, it can't be unseen.

Of course, the most convincing tiny faces take some serious skill. Strategic shading and some contouring seems to give the best effect, as demonstrated in French's tutorial, but even the most amateur attempts are no less funny (albeit ridiculous).
