While it may seem like “me time” to hop on the phone after the kids have gone to bed or are entertained with another activity, screen time is not always good. Instead, overwhelmed moms might want to try unplugging from online instead. Staying on a screen places your brain in “work mode,” even during rest periods, which can increase burnout. Setting boundaries with your screens and staying off during certain times can promote a calmer atmosphere and mental clarity.

5. Nourish Your Body Wisely

Fueling your body is as important as fueling your children. By prioritizing the kids and skipping meals or just choosing sugary snacks, your energy levels are prone to fluctuation, and irritability may occur. Instead, stock your diet with protein, vegetables, and healthy fats, and don’t forget to stay hydrated, too. Each of these will help maintain energy, blood sugar levels, and focus. If you don’t have enough time for a proper meal, choose nutritious snacks that can give a boost to overwhelmed moms.
