While the daisy nail trend originally took off this spring, there has been another surge in searches as we prepare to trade in our sunny, pastel polishes for richer, autumnal hues. Not to mention, the 'farm girl chic' design pairs perfectly with the quarantine picnic aesthetic we've been seeing allover the 'gram.
A quick scroll through Instagram proves the design isn’t going anywhere just yet, with loads of recent posts from professional nail artists and content creators. For example, over the weekend, Los Angeles-based nail artist Betina R. Goldstein posted her “vintage” take on the daisy trend (below), and it was quickly regrammed by beauty outlets like Byrdie. And with over 25,000 other inspiration shots using #daisynails, it impossible not to get lost in intrigue.
Not only is it a fun look, great for minimalists and nail art enthusiasts alike, daisy nail art is easy to DIY, too. Even nail art novices can freehand the simple floral design. All you need is a few nail polish colors of your choosing (though white and yellow create the most traditional look) and a dotting tool or toothpick. To start, paint your base color and let it dry completely. Then, get going on your petals. Using your dotting tool, pick up the petal polish and draw little lines, working in a circle to create the flower shape. Finish by dotting the middle with another color.
