10 Romcoms to Stream On Valentine’s Day:

The Princess Bride (Hulu)

A classic RomCom to watch this Valentine’s Day, you say? In the words of sweet Westley, “As you wish!” Full of iconic lines and wild characters, The Princess Bride is an exciting tale of unwavering love and zany adventure. We love that it’s not your average romantic comedy, too. This quirky film marries whimsy, fantasy and escapades with a deep undercurrent of true love.

Falling Inn Love (Netflix)

Pack your bags, because we’re heading to New Zealand. When a fancy executive in San Francisco is suddenly the winner of an old Inn in New Zealand, she makes the leap to bid adieu to the city. In place of stilettos, she puts on some work gloves to flip the rustic property and obviously meets a handsome contractor along the way. Full of cheesy humor and plenty of cliché moments, Falling Inn Love reminds us that sometimes things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Sixteen Candles (Hulu)

If you’re keen on riding that nostalgia train, Sixteen Candles will do the trick. This one takes us all the way back to the ‘80s. Starring Molly Ringwald, this classic teenage coming-of-age story is all about finding yourself while looking for true love. True to ‘80s form, it’s chock-full of melodrama, wit, and some unforgettable fashion moments.

Sweet Home Alabama (Amazon Prime)

Time to settle into that cozy, home-town feeling.  NYC fashion designer, Melanie (Reese Witherspoon) seemingly has it all—glamorous job, perfect fiance, and a thriving life in the city. Only… her ex-husband from Alabama has thrown a wrench in her plans and won’t divorce her. She heads to the South to square things up, but things don’t go as planned. This classic reminds us that home is where the heart is and that, yes, sometimes love is worth a second chance.

Blithe Spirit (Amazon Prime)

If you’re not quite sure about the RomCom genre, but you can get down with a comedy that involves the occult, Blithe Spirit is our Valentine’s Day movie pick for you. Struggling with writer’s block and pushing against a hard deadline, Charles (Dan Stevens) hires a medium to conduct a seance in the hope for some content inspo. He gets a bit more than he bargained for, and ends up trying to navigate a twisted love triangle that involves his current wife and first dead wife…

10 Things I Hate About You (Disney+)

This movie makes our Valentine’s Day watch list because—let’s be honest—who can resist a Heath Ledger RomCom? Also, the story is inspired by The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, the guy who is basically the forerunner to modern day romance films. (Psst. No judgment if you rewatch the singing scene over and over and over again.)

Never Been Kissed (Disney+)

If you’ve yet to see this ‘90s classic then all we have to say is GIRL. Put this on your list ASAP! Even if you’ve seen it many times before, it’s still worthy of your Valentine’s Day rotation. Starring our fave queen Drew Barrymore, Never Been Kissed is a truly classic tale of insecurity, redemption, second chances, and steamy forbidden love.

13 Going On 30 (Hulu)

A favorite feel-good, 13 Going On 30 is the perfect Valentine’s movie for the whole fam. It’s also our pick for mommy-daughter date night or a galentine’s day get-together. Starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, this classic RomCom fuses the 80’s with early aughts culture, and reframes the way we look at adulthood and romance.

Valentine’s Day (HBO Max)

You can’t go wrong watching a movie about Valentine’s Day on Valentine’s Day. This star-studded romcom (Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Topher Grace, Jennifer Garner, and more) follows five relationships in Los Angeles, all of which are equally complicated, confusing, and pretty darn relatable.

The Half of It (Netflix)

One of Netflix’s newest YA romcoms, The Half of It is equal parts feel-good and empowering. Highlighting platonic friendship and representing queer love, it stars Leah Lewis who plays Ellie Chu, a high schooler who ghostwrites love letters for her classmates. When she takes on a job for a jock, she never imagines becoming friends with him while also falling for the recipient of his letter.
